I reset my iphone via itunes and icloud is now showing an old alternate apple id???? I can't edit it. Also iMessage is comingfrom apple id email and it won't me change or delete it???

What you are seeing is the Activation Lock. You have to delete the iCloud account, and to do so, you have to provide the password that goes with the iCloud account that is signed on. Once you have deleted the account, you will be able to sign into iCloud with your Apple ID.
For iMessages, go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive, click on the Apple ID, and sign out.
