Q: Iam trying to transfer my pc files to my new mac mini i have 1 ethernet plug i don't know how to connect both my mini & pc

I am trying to migrate files from my pc to my new mac mini i have 1 ehthernet plug it says i ave to have both machines connected i don't know how to do that

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

    Plug an ethernet cable between the PC and the Mac mini?

     

    Do you have a home router with 2 switched ports?


    Do you have an ethernet switch with 2 or more ports?

     

    You could also have your Mac mini create an adhoc network that the PC can join.
