Q: Broken Screen - Lost Live Music

I had a terrible day recently.

I recorded my son's performance with his school jazz band using an app on my iPhone 4S.  Later that day, I dropped the phone and the screen broke.

The next day I purchased an iPhone 5s to replace my broken phone, but the iPhone 4S hadn't backed up and I don't have my son's performance from the previous day.

I was told that if I could connect my iPhone 4S to my computer, I could download the profile of the phone and retain the music that is stuck in the broken phone.  But how can I backup the broken phone and then restore to my new phone?

Can anyone help?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7

If the phone with the broken screen works, connect it to the computer it normally syncs with, open iTunes, then go to File>Devices>Back Up.  When finished, go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.  Then set up your new phone, and during the setup, when given the option, choose Restore from iTunes backup and restore this backup to the new phone.  If the new phone is already set up, connect it to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Restore Backup, then select the backup of the old phone to restore to the new one.
