Is this a New disk?

Then use Disk Utility (in Applications/Utilities):

Partition as 2 Partitions, select [Options], then GUID.

Format Partiton2 as FAT32 (any single file cannot be > 4g) or exFat:

Select [Apply] (All data on the drive will be erased)
