Available disk space

When I click "get info" on my Macbooks HD, it tells me there is 121GB of availalble space on the SSD. When I use disk utility or a third party applicaiton like Onyx, it says there is only 6GB of available space.

Why the difference, and which do I believe?

Something you installed and or something you have running is keeping copies of files you have deleted and or the Time Machine Local snapshots are taking up that other space. If you have Time Machine turned on, in System Preferences, turn it off and see if that clears up some of the space. You can then turn it back on it you like.

There are other add-on apps that like to save backups of files you have delete. List some of the Mac Clean up apps you have installed (None of them are needed and you should REMOVE ALL OF THEM).

You may notice a difference in available space statistics between Disk Utility, Finder, and Get Info inspectors. This is expected and can be safely ignored. The Finder displays the available space on the disk without accounting for the local snapshots, because local snapshots will surrender their disk space if needed.
