Can not connect laptop to wifi

My laptop can not connect to our home wifi. Under 'Network' it shows as connected to our home network though, although it shows as connected through Airport with a self-assigned IP and not through Wi-fi as it shows on my Mac-mini. And the internet is not working... ???

Hello, kdebrier.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I appreciate the information provided about the issue that you are experiencing. Sometimes a simple power cycle of your wireless router corrects issues with self-assigned IP addresses. However, further troubleshooting may be needed. This article addresses most solutions related to Wi-Fi issues.
