After notified by Apple to update to IOS 7.1 version for my iPad2, I am now getting a black screen. There's a white power cord showing, pointing at the blue iTunes icon. Any suggestions from here?

You will have to connect your iPad to a computer running iTunes and restore the device. Something went wrong in the update and the iPad will not work until it is restored.

Hopefully you made a backup before you started the update.

Thanks so much! Appreciate your help!!
Thank you so much!! I appreciate your help!
I just had the same problem with my Ipad3.
The link how to connect to Itunes doesn;t work so far.
Turnoff, hold button, connect, etc...no Itunes starting or recognizing the iPad!
What next?
I would open iTunes on the computer and make sure you have the latest version. Then after that try connecting the iPad with iTunes open and see if it connects at that point.
With the new update I just got I had to connect it to my computer to turn to wifi sync on again, so that might be something you might want to check also.
Have the latest Itunes, connected with Itunes open, still no luck....
Do other devices connect to the computer? Try another iPad cord to the computer, just to be sure it's not a bad cord. If that don't work then connect it to the computer, turn the iPad off and the. Restart the computer, once it's started then turn the iPad back on, see if it is recognized then.
Hmmm did you have the power plugged in when you did the update? The white power cord means it is low on power, if the update was going and it was not plugged in while the update was going....it's possible it ran out of power before the update finished.
If that happened then you would have to charge it enough so the computer recognizes it, if it will since the update didn't finish possibly. You may have to try to do a restore the iTunes on it and then finish the update with it charging.
I don't know if it will work but it's a option to try. Someone may read this and give other options for you, good luck.
Thanks for the help, only this worked....and worked perfectly.
Had made a backup before updating, so didn't loose much data or had to reinstall a lot (by hand).
