latest OS version for iphone 3g

(maybe I should have posted the reply to you... does this mean that I won't be able to update to a higher OS at all? Many of the apps I's like to put on my phone need 5.0 or above and I'm stuck at 4.2.1.... grrrr.)

And maybe I should learn to read other posts first... I believe I have just found an answer that i can only update to 4.2.1...... that is very upsetting. as I don't have the ability to get a newer phone.... UHG!!!! Thanx for your time!

yea 4.2.1 is the highest ios the 3g will go

Latest update for iPhone 3G is iOS 4.2 and that's it.Apps not working they required iOS 6.You have to get a new version of iPhone.Thank you.
