iPhone 5C lock screen issue due to iOS 7.1

I recently installed iOS 7.1 and my iPhone 5C is not cooperating. It is stuck on the lock screen and does not respond to touch or swipe. The animations like "Swipe to Unlock" or the clock all work perfectly fine but I can not get anywhere from this screen. The only thing this bug allows me to do is hard reset the device, causing no change whatsoever to the problem. In addition to that the phone also occasionally restarts on random intervals every few minutes. I tried factory resetting the device as well, and the device was working correctly with the setup features and iTunes details. As soon as I chose the option to back up my previous iCloud save from the phone from just a few days ago, the iPhone reverted to the same state it was in before I reset it. It almost reminds me of my old iPod Touch.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide!
