I'm having excruciatingly bad battery life since upgrading to iOS 7.1. Just during a conversation with Apple Tech support I lost 31% of my charge. I noticed that thew location services Icon is on at all times. Prior to iOS 7.0.6 I had battery life worth bragging about. Now I lose a very healthy chunk of battery life just during one phone call. By the way this is an iPhone 5S 64 GB.
Anybody else having problems like this? Any solutions?

I have this same problem while using the Camera this morning to record videos of my daughter's school performance.
I updated to iOS 7.1 via iTunes 11.1.5 on Mac OSX 10.9.2 last night.
The battery drain was quite dramatic and the phone was very hot.
I have the model A1533 (64GB White iPhone 5s).
After reading this post, I turned off Location Service for the Camera and checked again. Same problem persists.
Same model iPhone, same versions of iTunes and OS X.
I was poking around in location services, toggling different items and found two that when turned off will cause the icon to vanish, the Apple store app and Dark Skies, a weather program.
I'm leaving them off and hopefully battery life will improve.
I experienced same problem today after upgrading to iOS 7.1 last night. I have a 16GB iPhone 5.
Charged it overnight and it was at 100% when I arrived at work. I always leave it in the car while I'm working and, pre 7.1, it used to be at 90-95% when I'd get back after 9 hours away. Today it was completely drained to the point of being non-operational.
Haven't tried any of the above work-arounds yet as I'm still in recharge mode.

Fixed!! This is what worked for me:
Turn off both location services and background app refresh, let the battery completely discharge. Recharge the battery completely, then turn both location services and background app refresh back on. This made the location services icon vanish and greatly improved the battery life.
On the first day I saw a 50% drop in charge in 3 hours, now in 12 hours, it only dropped 5%.
