Q: Bluetooth-profiles used by Swtich Control accessibility

Amoung the 7 bluetooth-profiles supported by iOS, which one does the Swtich Control accessibility use? If it is the HID profile (same as keyboard), wouldn't using switches prevent access to virtual keyboard?
