Macbook suddenly processing tasks much slower.

Hello,

A few days ago, specifically Monday, my macbook started processing all tasks much slower than usual. The only thing that happened between the times I used my laptop was downloading the OS X 10.9.2 update. I have a mid-2012 13" Macbook Pro and haven't had any problems before. ANy advice would be helpful.
