Update error on iPod touch 5 for 7.1

I'm trying to update my iPod touch 5th generation to 7.1 and it starts updating really slowly and then quits and says " Error trying to update, please try again." I've tried turning off my iPod and turning it back on and try to update it again, but the same thing keeps happening.

iPod touch, iOS 7.0.6

- Try when connected to another network

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Power off and then back on your router

.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- Update via iTunes on your computer
