Recording an interview with two microphones?

Thank you for considering my question. I'm conducting a series of interviews on location and am recording the conversations with GarageBand on my MacBook Pro (13", late 2011), running OS X Maverick 10.9.2.

I've been using one Blue Snowball external microphone, but this doesn't pick up both voices very well.

May I add a second microphone to GarageBand and get two separate vocal tracks?

Also, which external microphones do you like for recording interviews? The Blue Snowball is very bulky, and I'd rather not have to cart it around (although it looks impressive).

Thanks in advance for your help!

yes, you can create an aggregate device for multiple inputs:

(Let the page FULLY load. The link to your answer is at the top of your screen)

although this short video tutorial is made with os x 10.9 and GBv10, the principles are the same for 10.6 and earlier versions of GB:
