FCP 5 Timeline "Text"

Working on a project in FCP 5 that has several different text tracks. Aside from a small icon, the tracks are all named "Text". Is there some way I can have them automatically named by, like the actual text? Every time I have to change one of them I have to go through all 30 to find it.

Automatically? Nope, not that I know of.

You can manually change the clip name that appears in the timeline (and that name is searchable) by control clicking on the text clip, and choosing Item Properties > Format and changing the name there.

If you had, say, thousands of text clips, you might consider outputting an xml of the timeline and using the xml to make the changes, but this is cumbersome in its own way and for <75 or so text clips I'm not sure it is worth the effort.

Maybe someone else will be able to tell you a better way to do it.
