Hi all aparenttly i have an issue with installing windows on my iMac ... before a year ago i was able to install windows on my imac from a DVD but now my DVD-ROM from my iMAC cannot read CD-DVD's anymore ... ok so ive said lets install it from a USB
So after trying over 5 diferent DVD's to install windows non off them work some off them booted and even got in the windows install menu but with no result upon trying to copy files .....so here i must understand the BOOTMGR from the DVD works...
1 Step was enabling Boot Camp to make "Create a Windows Install Disk"
-and googleing the interenet and here o the forum i was able to do that ...after editing info.plist
2 Step using a USB stick boocamp made the USB INSTALL DISK
- the USB stick is THIS sandisk-sd4201-8gb-cruzer-main.jpg
- after searching o google again seeing some tutotrials aparenttly USB that have their own program inside dont work the rest will work as said .
3 Step boot from USB i needed rEFIt to install on mac ... wich i did and aparenttly worked ...
- after i installing all trying to boot ...from stick
scenarios ....
1 Boot usb from rEFIt selected windows at first sais ... BOOTMGR MISSING press CTRL+ALT+DEL
2 Boot usb from rEFIt selected WININSTALL ..... BOOTMGR MISSING press CTRL+ALT+DEL
3 Boot usb from rEFIt selected the STICK ..... bootmgr UNSUPORTED
4 Boot usb from BOOTCAMP by holding alt on keyboard ...still getting BOOTMGR MISSING press CTRL+ALT+DEL but on other video on youtube if i insert the usb on the back i should have the MAC > WINDOWS > USB on the boot menu llike this guy but i dont aparrentlly bootcamp does not recognize my usb installer
ok i said maybe the en_windows_8_1_pro_vl_x64_dvd the bootmgr is damaged lets try something else
installed on my laptop RMprepUsb made from the DVD DISK a usb installer disk with FAT 32 Format and same issue BOOTMGR MISSING press CTRL+ALT+DEL or bootmgr unsuperted 😐 BUT .... the USB BOOTs on my LAPTOP so it works but does not want to work on my iMac why ?
ANY SUGGESTIONS WHAT CAN I DO ? ive tested 5 DVD's didnt work 2 diferent ISO to make USB bootable ....and failed does sandisk-sd4201-8gb is compatible on iMac ? or what sould i do but a new usb stick please help
