macbook optical drive ejecting disc

i have a macbook core 2duo . After i upgraded the os , the optical drive is acting funny and ejecting the disc after making a funny noise . Any Suggestions as to resets or solutions would be greatly helpful. thanks

Have you tried multiple discs? If so, do they all work as expected in other computers?

It's very likely your disc drive has died and needs to be replaced.
