Why do I see one photo in the albums but it pulls up anoth photo for viewing?

I am having trouble being able to put a photo from the downloaded pictures. When I tap on a picture, sometimes it shows another picture. What can I do to fix this?

iMac, iOS 6.0.1

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work
