Does Apple TV 3 Airplay Mirroring (Mirroring my iMac screen to TV) use data?

Hi,

I am interested in using Airplay to mirror my iMac to my TV via Apple TV 3.

If I turn on a movie on my iMac and then mirror it to my TV with Apple TV 3, will I incur wifi usage of the size of the movie?

Does Airplay mirroring always use wifi?

Airplay mirroring is running off your local network so that in itself does not require an internet connection, if the source movie on your iMac is streaming online then of course that will count towards your internet usage.
