I dunno about that rebuilding stuff, never heard of that before, seems odd, as Logic's help is built into the program. It can only disappear from there if it is manually removed...

Hi Erik - you get around don't you??

I'm on 9.1.8 btw - as my focusrite won't play with anything past Lion.

I have that help file but it won't work in logic.

Prior to me removing the com file the help would locate a help item (I was searching for chase events) but not open it. Now since removing the com file (it reappeared) I just get nothing. I appreciate I can just google it but I was hoping the inbuilt help would work. The menu item highligh still works.

The inbuilt help was (and always has been) uselessly slow, so I only ever use the online version, which is snappier, although annoyingly the search functionality has become much less efficient in LP X help, compared to LP 9.

You could also use the PDF's (they are downloadable from the help url's below)

So here are the LP 9 urls:

http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=preface %26section=0

http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicstudio/instruments/index.html

http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicstudio/effects/index.html

Yeah, over the past few years I've read loads of your posts, you and Lagerfeldt. I remember your avatar is a smiley cat, and I'm not even looking on the forum, that's from memory.

So thanks for all the helpful posts, you just added another one. I'll stick to the online help and get back to trying to write tunes.

cheers
