Q: os x10.9.2 problems with LaCie External Drive?

Timemachine couldn't complete the backup to LaCie unable to complete backup.  An error occurred while creating the backup folder.  How do I fix this.  Rebooting is not desired.  Thank you.

Mac Pro (Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

    I would just quit Time Machine and try again.

    If it happens again perhaps there is a problem with your hard drive.

    In that case you could try using Disk Utility (it's in Applications > Utilities) to try to repair your LaCie and also repair permissions on it.

    If that doesn't work you may have to reformat (erase) the LaCie.

    If you have any LaCie "utilities" or other apps on your mac, don't use them.
