iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 7.1, Removal of netflix app
Hold your finger on the app until the apps jiggle and an x will appear on it. Tap the x and the app will be removed after you confirm.
I need to delete it from iCloud as well. I know how to delete the icon.
Once you've downloaded an app, it's yours forever. You can hide it, but you can't permanently delete it.
What makes you believe the app is corrupt?
Netflix tech said so. There has to be a way to get it off.
If you are using the NetFlix app, I honestly don't see how you could have a corrupt version, but if you delete from your iPad and then go to the App Store and redownload it (it is free after all), you would be downloading a clean version.
Nope, it will not work like that. When you delete the app ICloud saves the corrupt version and when you try to download it again it just recognizes that it is still there. I tried working it all out with the it guy at netflix and he said this is an ongoing problem with the new update on some systems. He referred me to apple to get it off. 19$ to talk with any apple tech on the phone. Somebody must know a fix for this.
Tap and hold on the app until it jiggles and displays an X. Then tap the X. That removes the app from your iPad and deletes all data from that app.
When you visit the App Store and search for Netflix you will see a Cloud icon. This means you have downloaded the app previously but it is not presently on your iPad. If you want to download the app again tap the Coud icon. Otherwise leave it alone.
That's not true. If you delete the app from your device, when you redownload the app, you'll get a fresh copy. The guy at Netflix was wrong.
I can't even log into the app. I've reloaded about 20 times and has no effect whatsoever. I just want to use the app. It worked fine until the last update.
Just to let you know that both myself and my wife have used the Netflix app on our iPhones sine the iOS 7.1 update with no problems.
I just don't know what you're problem could be as Netflix is running quite well on all our devices under iOS 7.1
What I would recommend you do, is restore your device, via iTunes on your computer. Here is a link that will help you: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
You can then either manually re-add your apps, etc., or you can set up from backup.
Try this:
Contacted Netflix again and was able to talk with a real tech person who helped, he discovered it was the router that was not updating for some strange reason. He gave me a new DNS # and now it works. Problem solved.
