I have an original iPad which has 5.1.1. I just downloaded the latest software version for Apple TV. If I try to Airplay videos from my iPad onto AppleTV I get audio but no video. There is also no option when I select Apple TV to "Mirror iPad". Is this an incompatibility issue because I have an old iPad or is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

Not all apps are enabled for airplay, that is up to the developer to do. Mirroring requires an iPad 2 (or later).
