Bring back calendar list view in iOS!!

If you, like me, have just upgraded to the latest iOS 7.1, you will quickly notice that Apple has made another change to the calendar app by adding a hybrid view, which allows you to see the calendare and list view, but the list view is only for the current day selected!

At least in the previous version, you could still see list view by selecting search, but now even this functionality is gone!

For me, the list view is the most efficient way of seeing my appointments, calendar events etc, to get a good sense of what's going on.

In my view, a calendar with dots on it has no value, you get minimal information on your appointments.

An Apple fail! Bring back list view!!

In the meantime, are there any third party apps that display a list view calendar?

I mainly use it for google calendar and tripit calendar.

You are in yet another new view that they have added that seems to have little utility on the iPhone due to limited screen size. From the view you are in (split-view calendar with details at bottom), touch the split-view icon at the top to disable split-view (my term, don't know what they actually call it), then touch an actual day on the calendar, then touch the list view icon at the top.

I agree that it's very confusing that there are two slightly different split-view and true list view icons that depend on which view you are currently using. I can see the split-view being useful on iPad but not on iPhone.

I'm just very happy that they listened to the outcry and added back the list view.

Hope this helps.

I use an iPhone 4S and cannot get to "true" list view no matter what I do--only "split" list view.

One fix that has been offered on here was to click on day view, especially maybe when it's "today," and then the "list view" icon should appear at the top next to the magnifying glass. This didn't exactly work for me but I did eventually get my calendar to toggle back to "list view." But I am worried that, because I don't know exactly how I did it, I might accidentally toggle back to the other view.

"True" list view is invaluable and I do not want to see it eliminated. Apple, please help iPhone 4S users and others who need to be able to see "true" list view without doing weird non-intuitive things. "Split" list view is not helpful on an iPhone--screen too small.

I'm with you, Captainized. This new "list" view (hardly that since I can only see one event at a time) is not helpful on a 4S. The rest of you - can y'all get a list for the whole week? A list you can scroll through? I am just getting a split screen that (barely) shows one event at a time only on the day specified. This does me no good! Any way to get back the old iCal?

It doesn't matter whether 4S or 5C, etc. It is the iOS.

Yeah, you can do this, but it sure is NOT as clear as it used to be. Apple needs to do like Heathkit used to do & test these things w naive users (that is ones who aren't techies). Developers or any creators know what it is supposed to do so they may overlook some steps how to get there that are NOT obvious to those of us not in on the develpment of it!

I ran into the same thing when backing up my 4S so that I could then restore from the encrypted back up in iTunes. Lots of little steps along the way that were rather confusing!
