After iOS 7.1 battery like is terrible.
7.0.6 was great. 7.1 is terrible. anyone have a fix or do we wait for 7.1.1

After EVERY iOS update, there is a group of users that report faster than normal battery drain.
The vast majority of users see no changes in battery drain.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
For another reason, I had to restore my iPhone 5S after updating to iOS 7.1. I restored from my backup. The battery life is dramatically improved. I suggest you try that.
I'm new to the iphone -- just bought one, and am now experiencing battery drain issue post-iOS update.

Do a clean installation. This OTA update is just a little patch compared to the 1.X gb update, there must be something. It is convinient, but there is nothing better than a clean installation. It is a pain because you have to back up your files and delete everything, but it is the only way to have good battery life. I was being lazy until I decided to do it and now my iphone 5 running ios 7.1 has better battery life than before, it was also getting very hot. As far as I was told by an Apple Store tech if you restore from a backup make sure you use the one from iCloud instead.
