not eligible to download update

Today, I upgraded to Mavericks, the app store has told me there are two updates available. But when I click on the update all button in the app store, I get the following message box:

Update not available with this Apple ID

This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

I do not understand what the meaning of this message.

After I click OK, I get this message:

There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (null)

I would appreciate any insight into this issue.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Mavericks was downloaded to your machine with a different Apple ID. It doesn't want to do the updates because you didn't download it with your ID. Do you have more than one, or did you buy the machine used or something?

First did you buy your Mac New or Used?

If used then it is Tied to someone else's Apple ID and you really need to Erase the complete system and reinstall the original Shipping version of OS X on it. Until you do that that Mac will never be associated and or Tied to your Apple ID and you will always run into this problem.

Thank you for your replies. I purchased my laptop brand new three years ago and I do not have more than one AppleID. I am able to download and install some apps but not iPhoto or IMovie. I believe I may have missed a window of opportunity to be eligible for free updates to these programs based on what I have read online about the Mac up-to-date program. I have not found a way to purchase the updated software from the Apple store. I may have an old disk that came with my computer that has earlier versions of these software packages. I wonder if I reload the older versions of iPhoto and iMovies, will I be eligible to upgrade or update to the newer versions?

No. If when you bought your Mac it came with System Reinstall DVDs and had Snow Leopard preinstalled you have to use those to reinstall the iLife apps and then as you upgrade OS X you can upgrade the iLife apps from the Mac App Store.

I noticed a software update via the software update function called "Mac App Store Update 1.0"
