Mar 13, 2014 6:21 PM in response to vinnyvgby Icarus222,Sorry to hijack the thread - I'm having this problem as well and thought I'd fill ina bit more info.
I've been trying for the past 2 days to set up a free iTunes Connect account - and I get as far as the registration page (first page where you input all of your information) - and after I enter everything and agree to the terms etc. I get the same message as "The Countess" above.
I have restarted, tried accessing this on a second machine, cursed and even given my iMac a good old whack.
I've checked the requirements and I'm all good - network connection is obviously working as this site is working..
Aargh.

Mar 13, 2014 6:35 PM in response to Icarus222by vinnyvg,BUT..... are you trying to sign up using your iTunes account - probably the first Apple account you opened to buy apps, books, music, etc?
When I opened a free book account I used my iTunes account and it was OK... since then Apple have new requirements..... iTunes, iBooks Free and iBooks Paid each require a diferent ID - email address and passwords.

Mar 13, 2014 6:44 PM in response to vinnyvgby The Countess,Thanks for your response. I am TRYING to open a free books account which is quite seperate from my iTunes account which I buy music and apps from the App Store with. The link you put in there is exactly where I am, and I just tried to create an account using your link, but got exactly the same error message. I am inputting info into the FreeBooks Account: Seller Info box which is the second page of that link after filling out the first.
If someone could help as Icarus222 is finding the same issue. Thanks.

Mar 13, 2014 6:47 PM in response to vinnyvgby Icarus222,Hmm, yes. That's probably the problem then. I only have the one ID.
It doesn't really state this point clearly on the FAQ you sent through though. Will give it a go setting up a seperate ID and see how that goes.
Thanks heaps for the help!

Mar 13, 2014 7:09 PM in response to Icarus222by vinnyvg,The solutiuon is here.....
Apple have new requirements..... iTunes, iBooks Free and iBooks Paid each require a diferent ID - email address and passwords.
Apple do not seem to think about chaning the website everytime they change rules and requirements.
For World renowned high tech products business.... at times they do nothing to help their users!!

Mar 13, 2014 7:08 PM in response to Icarus222by Icarus222,Set up a second itunes account and that didn't work either. Still getting the same error message when signing up for iTunes Connect.

Mar 13, 2014 7:15 PM in response to Icarus222by vinnyvg,Set up a second itunes account = WRONG you need to open a Free or Paid book account.
IF you have a valid, confirmed free or paid book account - the username ( email address) and password asscociated with teh book account is the one which opens iTunesConnect. If you do not have a valid book account... iTunesConnect will not accept your "iTunes" Account information.
Paid or Free book sign up ----

Mar 13, 2014 8:16 PM in response to vinnyvgby Icarus222,But that was my original problem (and The Countesses'), outlined above!
That link you sent takes me back to the start of the registration process where the error occurs. I get into the adding my personal details into the Free Boks Account: Seller Info, enter my information, click on submit and the error message appears.
(.error saving application)

Mar 13, 2014 8:56 PM in response to Icarus222by vinnyvg,If you are not using your iTunes account ID and have created and entered new information.... then your only option is to contact iBooks support and ask their solution.

Mar 17, 2014 9:19 AM in response to Icarus222by Onno24,Hello Icarus222,
I am having the same problem as you have, it is very annoying.
The same message, I've tried either on mac or windows to create an account and always I get the same message : error saving application.
Have you found a solution?
Thanks.

Mar 17, 2014 3:21 PM in response to Onno24by Icarus222,Hi Onno24,
Very annoying alright!!
I've sent a number of emails off to iBooks support along with a couple of screen captures I took with the error appearing on both Safari and Firefox.
The latest reply (early this morning) was that my inquiry has been escalated to internal teams who are apparently reviewing my request.
I think your best bet is to send through an email outlining the same problem to the help guys, just to let them know that a few people are having the same problem.
Good fun hey!
