i tried to run my dvd player and this error window popped up.

valid DVD drive could noy be found (-70012)

what do i have to do to watch dvd on my eMac?

eMac, Mac OS X (10.3.9), PowerPC G4 (2.1)

Has it worked before (the drive)? If so, did it ask you to set the DVD region and is this movie you're trying to play of the same region?

Are you sure your eMac even has a DVD drive?

Go to your Apple menu, select "About this Mac". Then click "More Info".

In the next window (Apple system profiler), click on ATA on the left and see if you see anything that mentions DVD.

Also, when you insert a DVD, does it show up on the desktop?
