How to Sync iBook with Note 3 .....

Does anyone know how I can sync my iBook with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3?

My iBook G4 is running Tiger, 10.4.11. The only browser that still runs ok is Safari, which is updated as far as possible, Version 4.1.3.

I would like to be able to simply connect my Note 3 to the iBook via USB, so it will load onto the iBook desktop, allowing me to access the files on the smartphone directly from the iBook, so I can add more files, delete files, reorganize files ......

Wasn't sure there is a way to sync those devices, if they can't share files, by wire.

The card within the Galaxy usually can not be read by the iBook G4, so I'm not

sure there are any files that could be read, either.

And if there were a way to do so by wi-fi, the iBook G4 wi-fi card wouldn't have

same wireless frequencies available to it, that a newer device would use.

Perhaps someone who knows more about the compatibilities involved may reply.

But I kind of doubt that idea will work. Some articles I've read about this topic

found the card could (sometimes) be readable if used with a card reader, and it

was usually a one-way as the computer could read it (if format FAT-32) or not.

And some users thought the card brand had something to do with these failures.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂

When I first got my Samsung Galaxy Note 3, back in December, 2013, I bought a Class 10 Samsung 64 GB Micro SDHC card. It worked with my iBook G4, so I put some files on the card. But when I put the card in my smartphone, the Note 3 would not read the card. So, I formatted the card in the Note 3, then connected it to my iBook via card reader, but my iBook would not read the card!

I tried initializing on the iBook with several different formats, but the card was only compatible one way.

So, I bought a cheap Generic 64 GB Micro SDHC card, which works both ways! I can load files directly from my iBook G4 via the card reader, then put the card back into my Note 3, and read all the files. I just don't like having to remove the case from the phone so many times, load the card in the reader, then load files from the iBook, then remove card from reader, replace back in the phone, then go through this process many times ......

So, I've been using Dropbox to transfer files back and forth, which works. When I get my MacPro desktop working again, I'm sure I will be able to sync the Note 3 and Mac just fine, but that will be awhile longer ......

BTW .... I decided to keep the Samsung Class 10 64 GB Micro SDHC card, for backing up files from my iBook.
