I never knew what it was and really didn't care. Everytime my comp ****** me off cos of the internet bollocks I click on the ESC to stop it and suddenly I got this black screen with front row loading and can't get it off for a while it gets my nerve n this is useless .
please help me I'm on 10.5.8 dual 1ghz MDD

There are several ways to stop "Front Row":
1.) Usually you just press ESC to quit it.
2.) Launch the "Activity Monitor" (in the Utilities folder), search for "Front Row" and quit all corresponding processes.
3.) Open the System Library and search for "Front Row" - in the "Core Services" you will find the application "Front Row". Move it out of this folder and restart your computer.
Please be careful with 2 + 3: you do this on your own risk! And it is always a good idea to have a (Time Machine) backup.
If you remove "Front Row" from the "Core Services", then it might be impossible to use "Front Row" ever again.

Hold Option or alt key when selecting Find to Find All.
Open the System Library and search for "Front Row" - you do not need any other application.
The Finder is doing it very well - but you could take a look at the screenshot of "BDAqua".
If you find no "Front Row" there, then please let us know (including Mac system) and we will search for it...
thank you but it looks complicated to use a soft to get into osx , not sure i'll try that scared to delete things I don't want to...
gotta try this. the thing is they use the esc to stop when this is normally used for quitting applications etc.. if it was on F key that would be much better 😉
