Siri isn't working after updating to iOS 7.1?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Tuesday, I updated my Ipad Air to 7.1 and the samething happened Zacmoon happened to me. Siri quit working. Siri keeps sayting, sorry about this, but I can't take any requests right now. Also, dictation quit working as well. I tried the Hold power and home button at the same time reset method and that did not help. Tried turning the airport button on and off and that did not help. I had no problen befor the 7.1 update with Siri. One more thing, I called Apple support and talked to Conor. He said he would check with Apple about an issues with Siri and would call me back in five minutes. I never heard back from him. Iam really ****** off!

I read somewhere to turn Siri off, power of the phone then turn both back on. Seems to have worked for me.

I am from Romania and I have same problem like you guys with iPhone 5S , Siri is not working in 7.1 !

I try everything what I find here and nothing ! in Wi-Fi it's working very well , this is my problem is not working just in 3G mobile network on Vodafone ! Safari it's working on Internet with very good connectivity .

I don't understand what is going on , if somebody can help me please I don't want to change this phone but ,

None of it worked...

I absolutely use Siri all the time.... Apple, you suck! Fix this... And we shouldn't have to wait for another major update either.. Guess that crack group of engineers need to go back to school... They should have left well enough alone on how things worked.... Just unacceptable! 😠

Mine isn't working after all the "fix it" tries...wth I use Siri all the time and now I have to wait to use it cause I updated WOW!

I tried using Siri and it didn't work since update to 7.1 iOS. I killed a few apps from multi-task option and then I did a hard reset (holding home + sleep-wake button untile it restarts) option and it solved the Siri issue for me. After restart, Siri is working like before. Please try this option to see if it helps.

Yeah and it seems like whenever I can get Siri to work it is like she had a stroke. I asked her to "get me directions home" from a friends house and she tells me "Sorry I cant find that playlist in your music" & weird stuff like that. I use Siri all the time and it has never been like this until I updated.

Hey! Just joined this community cause I was having all the same problems with Siri, tried all the fixes suggested and nothing worked. Went from saying it couldn't help me right now, to weird replies then no voice at all. Finally I tried switching the voice from male back to female and switched the other settings back and forth (Voice feedback and Raise to speak). Voila! Siri was back! Won't work on the male voice still but at least it's working! I think it's a glitch with the male voice setting.

...Same issue with Siri ever since updating to ios 7.1 a week ago. Tried everything including switching to male or female voice and it doesn't fix the problem on my iphone 5. The only way I can get Siri to work is if I plug in my earbuds that have a mic...Which means I have to always have earbuds in and that's not happening. Any new info on a fix?

Maybe theres something wrong with your siri im on iPhone5s and it works fine maybe you changed a setting or two on your phone if not then connect it to your computer and restore it but first do a backup to save everything then when restore has finished it will say choose from backup or start as new phone choose backup if you want your contacts and stuff back. And that should fix your siri! Like if it helped :)

I have restored the phone and unfortunately no change. It keeps ios 7.1 when I restore it, so I assume unless I can downgrade somehow, I'm stuck until apple comes out with a fix for this screw up.
