How do I change my username on the apple account?

I want to change my username who has my fathers name. He made the transaction to bought the computer via internet and all the setup with apple had his name on it.

Apple - will you please address this question? It a very basic but important one. I was able to update he email address associated with my apple id but not the username, and it's not like I can just reregister under a new user name. It should not be this difficult. Please advise.
