my iPad is not syncing contacts to my mac...Help?

my iPad is not syncing contacts to my mac...Help? When I open my contacts from my Mac (OSX 10.9.2), I have duplicate ICloud accounts showing and if I click on "All Contacts", I get a duplicate of EVERY contact. YET....changes I make from my IPhone or my IPad stay consistent with each other but...do not sync to my Mac.

This has not always been this way. Is it possible that an update has thrown me under the bus?

I know I have missed something simple....just feel like a dummy.

If you see duplicate iCloud account inside the Contacts app on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Contacts, choose Delete from Mac (your iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud), restart your Mac, then go back and check Contacts again.

Go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts (your data will still be in iCloud), restart your Mac, then sign back in.
