Mid 2012 MBA BSOD with cursor. Tried reinstalling Mavericks, SMC Reset, PRAM reset - all to no avail.

Does anyone have any additional suggestions before I take it to the Genius Bar? Unlike the 2013 MBA bsod issues, I can't get the computer to "come back" even for a moment. Also find it curious that this happened after I okayed an update last night. Thank you very much for any help!

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Update - Called Apple Support and they helped me with a work-around. They moved me quickly to a senior support person; apparently this is an issue associated with recent upgrades.
