Even when working properly, with Verizon's network when a call is received while actively accessing the internet in any capacity when connected to Verizon's cellular network for internet access, a call will go straight to voicemail.

Try this.

When I'm not on the internet at all and try to make a call out I get a fast busy signal every time... Why would this be? Also... It goes to voicemail right away with incoming calls when I'm not even doing anything in the phone. Would this fox both of these issues?

Thanks.

You don't have an email account or accounts being checked for new email automatically? If you are connected to Verizon's cellular network for Internet access and email is being downloaded in the background or an account is being checked for new email when a call is received, the call will go straight to voicemail.

The fast busy signal when trying to place a call is probably not related to this.

The instructions included with the link provided may resolve both issues.

BTW, this is one of those very rare instances where I disagree with Allan 😉

The fast busy is called "reorder" in telephone parlance, and it means that the phone could not connect to the network past the switch that took the call attempt. Your call got as far as the switch, but the switch itself could not connect you further. If there's a problem in the switch or your account settings on the switch then you can neither make nor receive calls.

If this is recent and it has worked in the past it could indicate a local network outage also.

A fast busy used to be a pretty good indicator that authentication had failed. Authentication was what kept phones from being cloned. That's rare now, though. I have heard of it happening occaisionally. Sadly, not all of the folks at tech support are familiar with the process of resetting an A-Key.
