Bootcamp crash, disk utility disk repair

I know its not a new problem. I quit Bootcamp while it was partitioning and I lost around 70gb off my HD. In DU it does not show that I have a second partition. I want to try and get rid of this invisible partition without wiping my HD and reinstalling from a backup.If I boot off of my OSX installation disc and run disc utility disc repair will I lose any data off of my HD? It seems this has worked for others. Any help thanks!
