Question

PhotoStream, iPhoto, MacOS iCloud Requirements ?

Just yesterday I saw the minimum requirements to use iCloud + Photostream and both an iPhone and iMac. It listed the minimum:

• IOS (now inadequate at 7.0.3)

• Mac OS (should be fine at 10.75)

• iPhoto version and in which version of iLife (now not adequate at iPhoto 06 (8.12)

• any other requirements ?

Would someone kindly provide the link ?

Why does Apple confuse things by having the "09" as well as 8.12 in the iPhoto app ?

iPhone 5, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

So if only PhotoStream is desired, then it seems that the only upgrades needed are iOS 5.1 and iPhoto 11 (9.2.2) will be needed.

Yes, for My Photo Stream (although iPhoto '11, 9.5.1 is the latest version and the one currently for sale in the Mac App Store). For Shared photo streams you would need iOS 6 & Mountain Lion, and for iCloud Photo Sharing (which includes the ability to share short videos and for subscribers to add photos) requires iOS 7 & Mavericks.

I'd update to the highest OS X version and iPhoto version you can with your machine.
