How Can I Remove A Memory Card from the DVD Slot

OK, I'm an idiot.

I was working quickly putting photos on my Macbook and stuck a digital camera memory card into the DVD slot. It went past the felt pads that cushion the DVD on entry and I can't get it out.

Any ideas?

turn the mac off, and turn it on its side with the superdrive facing the floor and gently shake, or cut a piece of cardboard in the shape of a hook and try and fish it out.
