Mar 14, 2014 1:43 AM in response to willdnnybby Alfred DeRose,What do you mean you removed the 3G module? You physically opened the device and removed the chip?

Mar 26, 2014 7:15 PM in response to willdnnybby Lambretta_G,I also would like to know that. After much tries to restore, i realised that my baseband (3g module) is faulty.
I tried removing it but the same error 1 pops up.
Isnt there any way to restore or boot without the 3g module? Seems very odd to not be able to use the device if a component fails.

Mar 27, 2014 1:16 AM in response to Lambretta_Gby Alfred DeRose,I'll ask again, what do you mean you tried to "remove the 3G Module"? Are you just talking about the SIM card? or did you physically open the device and attempt to extract the cellular radio chip from the iPad?
If just the SIM, then this is normal behavior. It doesn't even need to be a working SIM so long as you have WiFi. But it is necessary to activate the iPad.

Mar 27, 2014 4:20 AM in response to Alfred DeRoseby Lambretta_G,3G module is the radio chip yes. Its attatched to the mainboard and can be easily disconnected.
I dont understand why an ipad can boot and work without screen, buttons, usb port etc attached and cannot boot or restore without the 3G module.
