How do I stop emails coming through to my mac after I have already read and deleted them on my iPhone?

I want to set up my mac so that once the emails from hotmail have been received, read AND deleted on my iPhone, they don't pop up on my macbook when I get home (and visa-versa if I were to receive the emails on my mac first). Can anyone help, please?
