I downloaded an application called Geneo by accident. Now I cannot open Safari. I get the message "Safari quit unexpectedly while using the librooksbas.dylib plug-in." How do I restore Safari?

The librooksbas.dylib item is Rapport, which I suggest you remove :

As for the Genieo adware : do not trust the uninstaller included with it, or downloaded from their website; It doesn't work properly.

I tried the Uninstall genes and now it's gone. Big mistake? I can't find the dylib files that should be removed per The Safe Mac.
It may appear to be gone, but several people here have checked & found that not to be entirely true.
Not all the files listed in either link may exist, but so long as you're sure that you checked each one correctly, you should be all set now.
Some people prefer to search with something like Find Any File .
Thanks for responding so quickly. I entered each file in the Go To Folder prompt and found a few, not all. Trashed them all and uninstalled Rapport. A restart and emptying of trash seems to have solved my problem.

That sounds normal, since you had used their uninstaller first.
I checked recently & it left these, at least... but other versions may vary, & it sounds as if you checked everything.
