Safari Won't Open After I Downloaded "Geneo"

I downloaded an application called Geneo by accident. Now I cannot open Safari. I get the message "Safari quit unexpectedly while using the librooksbas.dylib plug-in." How do I restore Safari?

The librooksbas.dylib item is Rapport, which I suggest you remove :

Uninstalling Rapport on Mac OS X | Trusteer

As for the Genieo adware : do not trust the uninstaller included with it, or downloaded from their website; It doesn't work properly.

For that : follow the instructions at this Apple Support Communities reply by Linc Davis

You may have installed the "Genieo" search-hijacking rootkit

or here

That sounds normal, since you had used their uninstaller first.

I checked recently & it left these, at least... but other versions may vary, & it sounds as if you checked everything.
