USB flash drive Not mounting

I have an external USB flashdrive that just yesterday it was able to be read and now today I find that it's not being read. It is connected and I can find it disk utility. It won't let me manually mount it nor utilize first aid on it. I have stored files in it that I would like to recover. Please help.

I've had success resolving this issue temporarily enough to copy across any data I've needed with TechToolsPro a number of times. The actual tool failed - I can't remember if it was Volume Rebuild or Repair Permissions. But after it failed the drive mounted temporarily.

I don't know if this will work for you, but it has worked for me more than a few times before.

There might be a better solution to your problem, otherwise wait until Monday or to talk to your neighbours. 😉
