Q: Help... iPhoto not working after migration
I upgraded my new (used) imac to mavericks, and then used migration assistant to move my files from my old imac (power PC)... Unfortunately, now, it tells me that it cant open certain applications (iphoto, idvd, imovie, adobe photoshop) because power pc applications are no longer supported. I know Mavericks comes with Iphoto.... How do i get it to run it now that my old stuff is in the way?? or migrate back to just mavericks and I can transfer files manually?
How frustrating that it would migrate programs that are obsolete.....
Any help would be appreciated.

Mavericks doesn't come with iPhoto (and the other iLife applications). They are separate. Do you know what version of iLife you had installed or have those programs been there since you got your old iMac? iLife 9/11 versions will upgrade. You can try Amazon or E-Bay to find the disks.
Adobe Photoshop you will have to upgrade.
An alternative is to run Snow Leopard Server in a virtual machine.
Snow Leopard server for use with the above. Call 1-800-692-7753 and order part number MC588Z/A. Cost is $19.99 + sales tax and shipping.
