MacBook Pro stains next to trackpad

My MacBook Pro that I have only had for less than a year has some strange looking stains on the silver finish where I rest my palms next to the trackpad. It isn't oily from my hands but it looks like some sort of stain. Any tips? I have tried using Clorox wipes, wet towel, microfiber, nothing seems to get rid of it. I have apple care and am still under warranty I think, is there anything I can do,

There wasn't one. This forum has a habit of not showing posts, sometimes. When I got an e-mail that you had replied and I came to this thread your reply wasn't visible. So I replied to your post and that made your last post show.

This is a fairly well documented problem with some people. Usually it causes Pits in the aluminum. But depending on your pH you can get a discoloration and no pits.

You can try a magic eraser but it is a chemical reaction issue, not something you can just wipe away.

Apple will charge you to fix it since it isn't a defective per se.

Going forward, be more mindful of whatever soap, lotion, etc you use on your hands or for some people, it simply is the ph of their skin and really nothing can be done. Strange and sorry, I know.
