Dust under my iPad screen.

Just after a week my warranty expired, I discovered a dust particle under my iPad screen.
I have the iPad for a little bit more than a year, always took good care of it, there are no scratches in the screen.
I went to the authorized Apple Store, where they confirmed the issue. It's really disapointing to discover there is no way to fix the problem, the only "solution" Apple gave to me was to pay the half price of a new iPad so they would take mine and give me a new one back.
As I see, in a year my product lost 50% of it's value. There's no way to fix it.
Apple used to be associated with quality, what happened?
iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 7.1
