Iphone 5s iOS 7.1 Touch Screen Lag

I upgraded to iOS 7.1 and now my touch screen is laggy. For example, after unlocking the phone, when i try to swipe left or right, the phone seems frozen, it will only move after a few seconds. This impacts every part of the phone, home page swiping, applications, keyboard. Everything.

After it unfreezes, if i keep swiping it will be fine. Once i stop swiping for 2 seconds, it will freeze again for a second.

Incredibly annoying!

I've already reset the keyboard dictionary and restored to new and a back up. No luck.

I'm pretty sure there's no way to go back to 7.06 right?

I had an extreme problem, I could even unlock my phone. I had to restore

it to new, don't do it to a backup. I think it's that smash ball app

(the top free app) that's what I narrowed it down to. Although it still happens

time to time. Not sure why yet. Turning of the screen works, or shut it off totally.

I had that smash hit app too. I deleted it bit that didn't fix my screen lag unfortunately. Still looking for an answer!

It happened to me again today. I took it to the apple store and they replaced the screen, $150 later.

I will certainly not pay for a new screen as this is due to 7.1 though. I think your issue was a little different.

I don't know if this will help anyone else but I let my phone die and then plugged it in to charge. It powered on and then I restarted it again by cycling it off for 60 seconds and then back on. I haven't seen the lag since I did this. Knock on wood.

Well, luckily my 5S was still under warranty, so i went to the Apple store and they admitted it was defective. So they gave me a new phone. For those whose warranty is out, hope Apple pushes a fix soon!
