Do you get any error messages?
Perhaps the disk image is damaged or is not a correctly formatted .iso? Redownloading should resolve any corruption (assuming the original is intact). Is this an image from the net or something you created?
Disk Utility (DU) will also mount disk images, so open /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility drag the .iso to the lefthand sidebar & you can then select the option to mount and perform other tasks (like verify or repair where appropriate). Just right click the image in the sidebar to see more options (or ctrl+click).
See if that gives you any error messages.
'DU' will use the same framework as 'DIM' so it may give the same result, but you may get better feedback on error.
Be aware that large images can take a considerable amount of time to verify the filesystem before mounting and it's possible for that 'skip verify' dialog to be out of sight - it looks like nothing is happening when eventually it will mount 🙂
