Mar 15, 2014 5:41 AM in response to diesel vdubby BartlyAC,I have the same issue and have tried the trouble shooting items: On the same wifi network, apple AirPort Extreme in the same room as the Apple TV and iPhone 5, reset the Apple TV... The connection works for about 2 minutes and then drops. I have an airport express in my basement and that always shows up for airplay but the tv is so intermittent. Hoping it is a glitch in Apple TV that Apple can fix.

Mar 15, 2014 6:42 AM in response to BartlyACby Neveens,Thanks for reply. Thus the problem will not be solved except after an apple update. So please advise if I can mirror the ipad with TV using any other way without the airplay. I just bought the apple TV and i want to use it with my smart TV by mirroring the ipad.

Mar 15, 2014 7:02 AM in response to Neveensby Rudegar,★Helpfulthe fact the it's a smart tv is irrelevant smarts tv's smart features are ignored when being used with the appletv
if there are issues with airplay mirror over wifi then likely it's an issue with the wifi signal quality or router settings
one can try to
change the wifi channel if many networks close by use the same channel it can cause problems
change the wifi from 2.4Ghz which is a very busy band where dect phone, bluetooth and microwave ovens also send noise to 5Ghz
change the firmware of the wifi router to the latests from the manufactor
restart the router as in disconnecting power for 30sec
or try the hdmi adaptor for the ipod it's in the online store
