Q: IOS 7.1 bluetooth I have no sound when playing music

Since upgrading to IOS 7.1, when my iphone connects with bluetooth to my Ford sync system, playing music, the sound does not come through the car speakers.  It's like it is muted, but the iphone is not muted.  Also, I get no sound from my Audible app.  I've tried turning the phone off, deleting the app and putting it back on my phone, pushing the off button and home button at the same time till the phone shuts off.  I verified the phone's bluetooth was set to on.  I set it to off, turned the phone off and turned it back on.  None of these things worked.  Does anyone have anyother ideas?

    Hello slhendridl,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

For more information, take a look at:

    Bluetooth

Car stereos with Bluetooth may allow you to pair a device that can play calls or music through the car speakers. Ensure that your car stereo supports the A2DP Bluetooth profile before attempting to pair an iPod with it.

Note: iPhone can also connect using the HFP Bluetooth profile because it uses HFP to make phone calls through your stereo speakers. iPod devices do not have this protocol (because iPod devices aren't phones).

You can check for the A2DP Bluetooth profile by attempting to play music from your iPhone through your stereo speakers using Bluetooth. If calls route to the stereo speakers but music doesn't, it might not support A2DP. Contact the manufacturer or refer to your car stereo's user guide to see if your device is compatible.

    Have a nice day,

I feel like an idiot-- The vehicle I was referring to is a Mustang.  I don't drive it in the winter. Since I hadn't driven it since last fall,  I had forgotten that you have to request Bluetooth Audio before you may use it.  I have figured this out and I now have my bluetooth working.  Thank you, Mario,  for the help!
