Problems with ipod 7th gen with windows / Mac formatted

Ok....

So when i first got my ipod 7th generation. I plugged it into my PC (windows 8.1) its started itunes, and then asked to update. I updated it, then it said that it read there was a device but it could be read through itunes!

Great..

So i also have a mac, and plugged it into my mac to make sure it worked, and reset it and now its in Mac formatting!

When i plug it into my PC now, it asks to format G: drive..

If i format it will it fix it for PC or will it wipe all drives and all on it ....

HELP!
